In the article “Hotels Look for the Key to Social Media”, written by Susan Kuchinskas and found on ClickZ on July 26, HeBS divulged key information for hoteliers looking to participate in social media initiatives and monitor what is being said about their hotels in the social media channels. Today’s consumers are just a couple clicks away from thousands of reviews and millions of comments, and hoteliers realize this – but they don’t know how to ‘get a grip on it’.
HeBS’ onsite social media specialist Margaret Mastrogiacomo was quoted in the article, stating: “Before hoteliers even consider a social media initiative, they should be aware that social media is a very engaged, hands-on marketing format. The social networks are a graveyard of abandoned hotel profiles and fan pages by hoteliers who did not realize the complexity of social marketing.”
